Spanish Sworn Translation Price in India

Clear Quotations Before You Order

Spanish sworn translation prices depend on the actual document and certification requirements rather than a universal per-page rate.

For example, a one-page Police Clearance Certificate with an attached apostille requires a different assessment from a multi-page academic transcript containing tables, seals and handwritten annotations.

Your quotation considers the language combination, document volume, certification, complexity, urgency and delivery method.

Where applicable, the estimate distinguishes sworn translation charges from optional apostille assistance and courier costs.

To receive an accurate quotation, send the complete document rather than only the first page.

How Long Does Spanish Sworn Translation Take?

Completion depends on the translator’s availability, source language, document volume, complexity, apostille status and certification format.

Short English-language certificates may be completed sooner than complex legal packages or documents requiring preliminary authentication. Paper delivery also requires courier time.

Share your submission deadline before ordering. Yashvi will confirm the available turnaround for your specific assignment rather than promise an unrealistic universal delivery time.

Actual Assignment: Spanish Student Visa Documents from Navi Mumbai

An Indian student preparing a Spain long-stay visa application needed official Spanish sworn translations of a Police Clearance Certificate and medical certificate.

Yashvi’s published case study describes a coordinated workflow involving the document assessment, required MEA apostille, authorised Spanish sworn translation and certified delivery.

The assignment demonstrates why the PCC, medical certificate and apostille pages must be handled as complete document units rather than independent translation pages.

It also illustrates the value of coordinating authentication and translation before the applicant’s submission deadline.

Physical—Seal and Digitally Signed Spanish Sworn Translation

Two Certification Formats. One Coordinated Service.

Depending on your application and the available translator, Yashvi Translation can arrange:

Physical Spanish Sworn Translation

The original paper translation carries the authorised translator’s handwritten signature, physical stamp and prescribed certification. The applicable source-document copy accompanies the translation. Paper originals can be delivered by courier.

Digital Sworn Certification (eIDAS & CSV-Compliant)

Under Spain’s Order AUC/213/2025, an authorised sworn translator may certify a complete electronic translation package using the prescribed qualified electronic certificate.

The digital signature must cover both the source document and translation. Its validity can be checked electronically, including through Spain’s official VALIDe service.

Combined Digital and Physical Delivery

For customers requiring electronic submission as well as a physical original, we can coordinate both formats where the appointed translator offers them.

Why this matters: A digitally signed file allows electronic verification of the signer’s certificate and document integrity. A physical  stamp provides a paper certification format. A scanned image of a  stamp is not, by itself, a qualified digital signature.

We confirm the requested delivery format before production because an electronically valid translation may still need to be presented through the particular procedure required by the receiving authority.

Read our dedicated guide: Are Digital Sworn Translations Accepted at Spanish Consulates?

The Legal Baseline: The “Source Copy” Inclusion Rule

One of the most frequent causes of consular rejection is submitting a translation disconnected from the document it translates.

The Framework: Why Translations Fail at the Counter

  • Official Fact: Under Section 8 of Spanish Ministerial Order AEC/2125/2014, a sworn translator must stamp and date every page of the attached copy of the original document, which must remain permanently joined to the translation.
  • Practical Explanation: A translation submitted on its own without the attached source pages is legally invalid under Spanish administrative law. Consular officers and Extranjería caseworkers must be able to visually cross-reference the translated text against the stamped source pages to confirm that the translation corresponds to that exact version.
  • Yashvi Experience: We frequently receive urgent requests from applicants whose

A Practical Example: The Apostille Is Missing

Consider an applicant submitting a Police Clearance Certificate for a Spanish long-stay visa.

If the applicant supplies the PCC but has not completed a required MEA apostille, translating immediately may result in a translation package that omits the later-issued authentication.

Our approach: Identify the missing authentication during the initial assessment, coordinate apostille assistance if requested, and arrange the final sworn translation once the required complete source document is available.

This can reduce avoidable supplementary translation costs and document-preparation delays.

Our assessment identifies documentary risks; it does not replace the receiving authority’s decision or guarantee visa approval.

Dedicated Single Point of Contact (SPOC) Project Management

You are assigned a dedicated project manager who oversees your file from initial document intake to final delivery. Your SPOC serves as an administrative safeguard:

Your project coordinator serves as the primary contact for document assessment, quotation, apostille assistance, translator coordination, certification format and final delivery.

Where apostille is required, the recommended order is:

Original Indian Document → Required Authentication / MEA Apostille → Complete Spanish Sworn Translation → Certified Delivery

  • Audits the Apostille-Translation sequence before any translation begins.
  • Confirms name parity and date consistency across all submitted records.
  • Ensures the output matches the exact jurisdictional criteria of your filing destination (e.g., BLS Mumbai)

The Sequencing Rule

  • Practical Explanation: A sworn translator cannot certify an apostille that does not yet exist. If you translate your document first and apostille it second, the apostille remains in English, French, or another language.

Yashvi Experience: Yashvi checks the sequence before translation begins, helping prevent a situation in which an apostille is issued after the original translation has already been certified. Also missing the apostille translation almost always results in an intake refusal at the counter, requiring the applicant to book a new appointment.

Review the comprehensive step-by-step framework in our dedicated guide: The 3-Step Sequence: Apostille First, Translation Second.

Vertical Service

Documents That May Not Require an Apostille

Not every supporting document automatically requires apostille certification.

Documents such as the following may be treated differently depending on the procedure:

  • Bank statements
  • Payslips
  • Employer letters
  • Private commercial correspondence
  • Insurance documents
  • Accommodation evidence
  • Certain university letters
  • Privately issued certificates

The receiving authority may request the original, a notarized copy, an official translation or another form of authentication. Confirm the requirement before ordering apostille services.

Apostille Before Spanish Sworn Translation

For Indian public documents intended for official use in Spain, the correct sequence is generally:

  • Obtain the correct original or officially issued document.
  • Complete any required state, educational or issuing-authority authentication.
  • Obtain the Hague Apostille from India’s Ministry of External Affairs.
  • Scan the complete apostilled document clearly.
  • Arrange the Spanish sworn translation of the document and its apostille.
  • Submit the translated package in the format requested by the receiving authority.
Vertical Service

For a detailed explanation of the recommended sequence, see our guide on apostille before sworn translation.

Applicants preparing Indian documents for submission in Spain should follow the authentication and translation sequence specified for their procedure. The Embassy of Spain in New Delhi’s legalization and apostille guidance explains the treatment of documents issued in India and indicates that the complete apostilled document should be considered when arranging the required official Spanish translation.

India has been a member of the Hague Apostille Convention since 2005. India’s Ministry of External Affairs provides apostille services for personal documents such as birth, marriage and death certificates, affidavits and powers of attorney, as well as educational documents including degrees and diplomas.

Digital or Paper Spanish Sworn Translation

Spanish Sworn Translators may certify their translations electronically when the applicable legal and technical conditions are satisfied. Spain’s Order AUC/213/2025 regulates the use of qualified electronic signatures by Sworn Translators and Interpreters. It requires the electronic signature to cover the complete document, including the source document and its translation, and to identify the translator’s name, authorized language and official registration number.

Delivery format Suitable for What to confirm
Qualified electronically signed PDF Electronic applications and authorities accepting digitally signed files Confirm that the receiving institution accepts electronic delivery
Scanned wet-signed translation Preliminary review or online upload Confirm whether the paper original must later be submitted
Original paper translation Authorities, courts or notaries requiring a physical original Allow sufficient international courier time
Digital and paper package Applicants who need both online submission and later presentation Confirm the delivery address and deadline

Important Digital-Signature Clarification

A picture of a signature pasted into a PDF is not the same as a qualified electronic signature.

Under the current Spanish framework, the electronic certification must use a compliant qualified certificate, cover the complete translation package and contain the required translator-identification information.

The receiving authority retains the right to determine whether it accepts electronic documents or requires an original paper copy.

Should the Apostille Also Be Translated?

For documents being prepared in India for official use in Spain, the complete apostilled document should ordinarily be sent for sworn translation. This allows the translator to reproduce the apostille wording, seals, references, signatures and authentication information as part of the official translation.

Do not send the original document for translation before obtaining the apostille when the apostille is required. Adding an apostille afterwards can result in an incomplete translation package and may require the translation to be revised or reissued.

Spanish Sworn Translation Services Across India

Yashvi Translation supports clients across India through a remote document-assessment and coordination process. Documents can be reviewed electronically, while certified paper originals can be delivered by courier when required.

We assist clients in Delhi, New Delhi, Ghaziabad, Noida, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Chandigarh, Mohali, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Moga, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Indore, Bhopal, Kanpur, Lucknow, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Coimbatore, Kochi, Visakhapatnam and other locations across India.

Clients are not required to locate a Spanish sworn translator in their own city. Document assessment, translator coordination, certification and delivery can generally be managed remotely.

Where Yashvi Translation has a genuine staffed or appointment-based service location, the relevant city page may be linked naturally. A local-business presence should not be claimed for cities without an actual service point.

Spanish Sworn Translation for Clients Outside India

We also coordinate Spanish sworn translations for clients living outside India, including Indian citizens abroad, applicants residing in Spain, international students, employees, families, companies, lawyers, immigration advisers and educational consultants.

The required authentication process usually depends on the country where the document was issued, rather than the applicant’s nationality or current place of residence.

For example:

  • Indian documents may require an apostille issued through the Indian authentication process.
  • UK documents may require authentication through the relevant UK authority.
  • UAE-issued documents may require the legalization procedure applicable in the UAE.
  • Documents issued within the European Union may be treated differently from non-EU public documents.

Before requesting a quotation, send the complete document and confirm its issuing country, intended use and receiving authority.

Summary

Official Status and Certification
Yashvi Translation provides “traducción jurada” services for Indian and international documents intended for official use in Spain. These translations are certified by Sworn Translator-Interpreters officially appointed by Spain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union, and Cooperation. This specific accreditation ensures that the documents are legally recognized by Spanish consulates, universities, courts, and civil registries without requiring further legalization of the translation itself. The service is critical for various procedures, including long-stay visas (student, digital nomad, non-lucrative), academic degree recognition (homologación), and civil registrations.

The Apostille-First Workflow
A fundamental requirement emphasized is the sequence of document preparation: the Hague Apostille from India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) must be obtained before the sworn translation is performed. This allows the translator to include the authentication wording, seals, and references of the Apostille within the official Spanish translation package. Common documents handled include Police Clearance Certificates (PCC), medical certificates (requiring specific wording), academic transcripts, and power of attorney deeds. The service coordinates the entire chain, from document assessment and Apostille assistance to final quality checks and secure delivery.

Delivery Formats and Legal Compliance
Following Spain’s Order AUC/213/2025, translations can be delivered as legally compliant PDFs featuring a qualified electronic signature, which is distinct from a simple scanned image of a signature. For authorities requiring physical documentation, paper originals with wet signatures and stamps are delivered via international courier. The service supports clients across India and globally, ensuring that names, dates, and identification numbers match across all application documents to prevent rejection by Spanish authorities.

Provider Role and Verification
While Yashvi Translation manages the coordination, quality control, and logistics from India, the legal certification is issued by the individual appointed translator. Users can verify the validity of these professionals through the Spanish Ministry’s official searchable directory. With over 12 years of experience and adherence to ISO standards (17100:2015, 9001:2015), the provider acts as a specialized intermediary that bridges the gap between Indian document issuance and Spanish regulatory requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Yashvi Translation can assess your documents, assist with the apostille sequence, coordinate the sworn translation and arrange digital or paper delivery. The official translation is certified by an appropriately appointed Spanish Sworn Translator-Interpreter.

Yashvi Translation is the India-based service provider and project coordinator. The official sworn certification is issued by the appropriately appointed individual translator responsible for the translation.

This distinction should remain clear on quotations, invoices and website content.

An official Spanish sworn translation is produced by a translator holding the relevant appointment under Spain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation. The Ministry provides an official directory for verification.

No. A self-translation does not become an official Spanish sworn translation merely because the person is bilingual. The required certification must be issued by an appropriately appointed translator.

For an Indian public document requiring apostille for use in Spain, the apostille should generally be completed before the final sworn translation. This allows the complete authenticated document to be translated together.

For India-to-Spain document procedures, send the complete apostilled document for translation. The Embassy of Spain in New Delhi has published guidance referring to a sworn translation of the complete document, including the apostille.

Not automatically. Notarization and Spanish sworn translation are different procedures. Where the Spanish authority expressly requests a sworn translation, a general notarized or agency-certified translation may not satisfy the requirement.

Spain’s current framework permits sworn translators to certify work using a qualified electronic signature. However, the receiving authority must accept electronic submission. Confirm its requirements before selecting digital-only delivery.

No. A scanned image of a handwritten signature does not by itself provide the qualified electronic certification described in Spain’s current rules.

It depends on the authority. Some procedures accept a qualified electronically signed PDF, while others may require an original paper translation. Ask the receiving authority before ordering.

A sworn translation does not have one universal expiry period. However, the underlying document may need to have been issued within a specified period.

PCCs, medical certificates, bank records and other time-sensitive documents may become too old for a particular application even though the translation was correctly prepared.

Do not assume so. Spain has its own official sworn-translator system, while Latin American countries may use public translators, court translators, expert translators or other certification systems.

Confirm the rules of the destination country before ordering.

This depends on the availability of a Spanish-appointed translator for that language combination and the receiving authority’s rules.

Do not use an English intermediary translation without confirming whether it will be accepted.

Yes. For the relevant application, obtain the correct PCC and complete the required apostille before the final Spanish sworn translation.

For the current Mumbai long-stay study-visa checklist, the Indian PCC must be issued by the Regional Passport Office, apostilled by India’s Ministry of External Affairs and submitted with an official Spanish sworn translation.

Yes. Ensure that the certificate contains the wording required by the applicable checklist and is apostilled where necessary before translation.

Yes. We coordinate Spanish sworn translations of degrees, diplomas, transcripts, mark sheets, professional licences and related academic documents.

Confirm whether the receiving university or recognition authority also requires apostille certification.

The price depends on the complete document, source language, number of pages, apostille, urgency and delivery format. Send clear scans for an exact quotation.

Turnaround depends on translator availability, document complexity, language pair and volume. Express handling may be available after document review.

International courier delivery may be arranged. Provide the complete destination address and deadline when requesting a quotation.

No translation provider can control the decision of an embassy, consulate, university, court or government authority.

We can ensure that the translation is coordinated with the appropriate professional and prepared using the documents and instructions supplied. The receiving authority retains final discretion.
