Home » Digital Spanish Sworn Translation Benefits, Verification & Consulate Acceptance
A digital Spanish sworn translation is an official translation electronically certified by an authorised Spanish sworn translator. Since 8 March 2025, Spain allows sworn translators to certify translations using a qualified electronic signature.
In this video, learn the practical benefits of digital delivery, how the signature can be verified, how to check the translator, and why you should still confirm the submission format required by your Spanish consulate, BLS centre or receiving authority.

Our team has been emailed the following questions on this subject:
1. Can I combine a digitally signed sworn translation with other PDFs?
Avoid changing or merging the original signed PDF if doing so could break signature verification. Keep the original file unchanged.
2. What if I notice a spelling or date error after signing?
Do not edit the PDF yourself. Ask the sworn translator to correct and reissue the document with a new valid signature.
3. Should I keep the original digitally signed PDF?
Yes. Keep the original signed file because screenshots, scans, or printouts do not preserve the same electronic verification data.
4. What if my source document was issued electronically?
Use the original electronic source file where possible. It can form part of the digitally signed source-and-translation package.
5. Can I use the same digitally signed translation for another application?
Possibly. Check the new authority’s requirements, especially if it requires a recent source document or a specific submission format.
